Bio
It is the blur of his right hand dancing on the strings of the classical guitar that will take you to 19th century Spain, and it is the heavy groove metal sounds of the electric that will bring you back to the garages of American youth. Tracy’s music is an emotional roller coaster, from sweet and hypnotically mellow that sooths the soul to explosive rhythmic eroticism that reveals a deeper meaning with each new listen.
Tracy combines book-smart, theory-laden expertise with street savvy creativity to produce a sound so unique that you might miss the Randy Rhoads/Steve Vai influences that made him pick up the guitar at age twelve and pursue his dream. When asked what image he wants to portray, a contemplative Tracy says, “I want to be a musical mentor, an Obi Wan to the padawan learners of the guitar world. I believe in respect. Respect for myself, respect for my band, respect for my audience, respect for my students, Respect for music.”
His unanticipated accents are catchy, complex, raw and fearless explorations of his personal experiences that were inspired by a desire to “do my own thing” by giving a refreshing new twist to old but good ideas. As a musical chameleon, Tracy continues to write and record music in every genre while teaching the aspiring young musicians under his guidance that you can play your own music and still respect those that came before you; that you can sound phenomenal without sounding like anyone else at all.
